The Northfield High School girls’ basketball team lost a close one to Roosevelt High School, 69-63, in the 5A state championship game on Saturday (March 9) at the Denver Coliseum. Roosevelt is in Johnstown. The girl Nighthawks ended the season with an impressive 24-4 record.

The Northfield boys lost 70-59 to Mesa Ridge in the semi-final round of the 5A state championship tournament on Thursday (March 7) at the Denver Coliseum. Mesa Ridge is in Colorado Springs. The loss ended an 18-game winning streak for the Nighthawks. The boys finished 24-3.
